Potential from Central Africa: KTA Cameroon

As soon the NgC GmbH was founded, it was clear for managing director Gilles Ngameni, that he wanted to use the success of his services to give something back to society. KTA Cameroon was born out of this desire. As a native Cameroonian who successfully established his company in Germany, he knows about the partially unused potential of the Central African country. Especially software-, hardware- and app-development is preferred studied in Cameroon. Due to the country’s barely developed infrastructure, there is often a lack of appropriate jobs for well-educated Cameroonians.

Building bridges between Germany and Cameroon

Intended as a bridge to create a transfer of knowledge, the Kamany Talent Academy was created in 2016 as a grant project of the NgC. The name results from the common ground between German expertise and Cameroonian talent. Cameroon and Germany become Kamany. Although 5062.74 kilometers separate us, the NgC team collaborated closely with colleagues from Cameroon on a large-scale promotional campaign. The goal was to make the KTA a focal point for young talents who want to help shape the future of the country. Within a short period of time, we received many applications for the training courses and workshops in ICT that we offered free of charge. To generate nationwide attention, we offered innovation competitions. These were successfully held in October 2018, January and June 2019, and July 2020.

Ongoing, the NgC provided support on structural and business management issues with the help of internal and external experts from Germany. Also, by organizing regular workshops on site in the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé, the existing knowledge constantly improved. As a result, some of the ideas submitted in the competitions became permanent projects of KTA.

Only those who continue to develop can achieve great things

With the funding ending and the potential lying dormant, KTA has been generating projects on its own since April 2021 and actively helping to shape the Cameroonian market. With this success also came the successful re-branding from Kamany Talent Academy officially to KTA Cameroon. The portfolio of the young company includes technical services in the areas of web and mobile development, hardware development, 3D printing and diagnostic solutions on vehicles. Additionally, KTA Cameroon leverages its potential in conceptual design and offers idea management in a B2B context for other Cameroonian companies.

We are proud to have been part of this incredible development. Already during the funding period, we have also benefited from KTA’s expertise in app and web development. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with our sister company in Cameroon.
